The quality of scientific education paired with the development of cognitive skills has a decisive impact on the economic outcome. Global leaders have therefore emphasized on STEM education to build human capital to drive economic growth. As one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, Bangladesh needs to take an integrated approach to STEM education from primary to tertiary level. This study attempts to assess the perception of students in Bangladesh on the individual, institutional and societal factors influencing the implementation of an integrated STEM education system. The research employs a mixed method of data collection, relying on both primary and secondary data. The sample for primary data consists of evenly distributed numbers of college and university students from Dhaka and Chattogram. The study found that students on both higher secondary and tertiary levels have expressed their confidence in educators, despite the country having a poor infrastructure for an integrated STEM program. Besides, they have identified improved career prospects and enhanced skillsets as significant factors influencing their likelihood of transition to an integrated STEM education program. Nevertheless, a significant amount of research is yet to be conducted to identify the challenges of and implications to introducing a high-quality STEM education system in Bangladesh

The role of religion has a significant status on the health behaviors of both individuals and society as a whole. At a time when COVID-19 already ravaged the socio-economic condition and health care sector, the study conducted tries to evaluate the health-seeking behaviors of the students of Dhaka University and how their faith played a key role in shaping their health-seeking activities. The research employs a mixed method of data collection, where the primary data reflects the behavior of the Dhaka University students’ thus a complete image was acquired. The research found out that the students of Dhaka University have identified themselves as more on the religiously practicing side during the COVID-19 pandemic. Besides, students are seemingly getting mental relief by following religious sermons where interestingly the male students have shown a clear correlation between their perception of obtaining mental peace by practicing and following religious advice. But some students are also taking advice for their physical health from the same sources which might lead to misinformation. Most of the students have shown how scientifically and economically aware they are, as they opined that the vaccine drive should be increased to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic instead of lockdowns and strict punishment. Nevertheless, further research can be conducted in this field to identify the various health-seeking behaviors, especially the influence of religious beliefs and sexual identity among Bangladeshi students.

Healthcare is one of the basic rights of a citizen. To understand health, we need to understand what it means, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity [16]. Keeping the aspects of health in mind, The Government of Bangladesh is constitutionally responsible to “supply the basic medical requirements to all segments of the people in the society” and the “improvement of the nutritional and the public health status of the people” 1 . After the end of the independence of Bangladesh, healthcare was primarily focused on the basic services while massive changes came to the healthcare sector from the early 1990s where technological advances had a significant role. A part of the telemedicine services known as e-Health service was started by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to extend the healthcare facilities in 1998. Following that the Bangladesh Telemedicine association was founded in 2001. Since the introduction of telemedicine services, it has been able to decrease overall cost, reduce transportation issues to cities and save time. With the help of tele-camera in several villages the telemedicine services were very effective and willingness to partake in the system among the rural people increased gradually. The Bangladesh Government seeks to attain and ensure conditions in which the people of the country will be able to reach and obtain the highest attainable level of healthcare. For this reason, proper Healthcare System Strengthening (HSS) is necessary alongside adequate infrastructure and technical support which will be the result of proper Healthcare education, awareness and disease control interventions. Bangladesh has made significant improvements in healthcare and management. In some cases, it has made more impressive gains compared to most of its neighbors in reducing poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy and disease and deprivation. Despite these successes, the Bangladesh health system continues to suffer from innumerable challenges.
